This is an example of using the Stable Diffusion Automatic1111 plugin to inpaint and generate directly within Photoshop.

I started with a generic background starry night image and painted in Photoshop the bones of what I wanted.

It takes a lot of iterations and tweaks to get the result you want, these are three close ones (dozens of iterations were left on the cutting room floor).

I used Photoshop’s 3D text tools to create the exact letters I wanted. Here they are without any AI processing.

Next, I sketched in the character I wanted in the foreground, and had Stable Diffusion inpaint her based on the sketch as a ControlNet input.

I chose this version, but as you can see, she doesn’t quite look like she’s pulling out a gun…

…so I drew a gun in her hand!

I then sketched (in Photoshop) the storefront with people I wanted, and used inpainting with a mask to get it to render just that area.

Note that there can be a weird transitional color shift when inpainting an area, that needs to be fixed. In this case, I didn’t use this iteration but I wanted to show how Stable Diffusion generates gibberish when it comes up with a neon sign.

And here it is after AI processing.

Another inpainting pass with the gun and everything looks like it belongs in a dark, near-future cyberpunk world.
